Corey was born and raised in Massachusetts. His first conscious memory was lying on his back in the bottom of a canoe, blue sky above and placid lake beside, floating along the Adirondacks. That memory may have informed his storytelling tendencies, because he constructs narratives and concepts through visuals first. His strengths are his use of strong imagery and specialized design.
Corey graduated with honors from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he studied Film & Television, with a concentration in cinematography for film and narrative directing.
Before he was born, his mom had a dream that she should name him Zolar. She said it was because he would be living in the 21st century and needed a 21st century name. His dad said no way.
Corey lives in Los Angeles, California. He finds inspiration from art, movies, music, and the people around him. He has extensive experience shooting on various digital and film formats, directing episodic television and short-form content, and also editing, with a strong motion graphics skillset. He’s always looking for the challenge of new and engaging work.
